I've made a statement similar to the one above to my daughters countless times over the years. I suppose experience with the wrong people is at that root of it. I was insecure for so long, and would attempt to make myself into what I thought others wanted me to be. Big mistake. It took me a long time to realize that I'm not every one's cup of tea, and that's ok. My tribe will find me, and I'll find them. The wait is worth it.
