Deuteronomy 6:6-7

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. ~ Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Unsung Hero

***Many thanks to Kingdom Faith Marketing Services, LLC for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.

Hey everyone,

Are you up for another movie night? I've got the one you need to see. I had the opportunity to screen Unsung Hero, a For King & Country film. It's  based on the TRUE story of  the aforementioned band's members, and their family, including Rebecca St. James! Who else never knew that she was related to Luke Smallbone and Joel Smallbone? I can't be the only one, lol. What an amazingly talented family!

Synopsis:

When David Smallbone's successful music company collapses, he moves his family from Australia to the United States, in search of a brighter future. With nothing more t their six children, their suitcases, and their love of music, David (For King & Country's Joel Smallbone) and his pregnant wife Helen (Daisy Betts) set out to rebuild their lives from the ground up. Based on a remarkable true story, a mum's faith stands against all odds and inspires her husband and children to hold onto theirs.

Now check out this interview with Luke Smallbone:

I was thinking that the focus of this film would revolve around the beginnings of For King & Country. While it does eventually reference that start, the focus is drawn to David and Helen Smallbone, and the way their family is impacted as their faith is stretched beyond belief. I'd even say that the focus tends to be on Helen and her incredible faith. The belief that God would provide for her large family as they literally only had a roof over their heads, the clothes on their backs, and a meager amount of funds. Her godliness took root within her family, and they had a front row seat as God met their needs, from the food on their plates, to a fully furnished house.

I make it sound more basic than it is This is an impactful story of what God can do when we are willing to let Him steer our lives. Unsung Hero is a movie for any age, Moms will appreciate the struggles, the effort that Helen Smallbone went through as she persevered through often bleak circumstances. Dad's will identify with David Smallbone as they watch the struggles he dealt with as the provider for the family. Teens and even younger ones will learn that God doesnt only work in adults, but in and through kids just like them. I've already watched it twice, and I'm ready to catch it again at the theater. Did I mention that it was sooo good? Because it is. It really is.

The Hopeful

 Hey everyone,

What are your plans for the next couple of days?  Are you free? If so, I've got a suggestion for you. Go check out the movie, The Hopeful, in theaters on April 17 and April18 only!

I was given the opportunity to screen this excellent film, The Hopeful, over the past couple of weeks. Many thanks to Hope Studios for providing a sample of this product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own

What's it about?

Here's the short synopsis:

The Hopeful is a true story of a community whose lives were transformed as they learn what it means to truly wait for Jesus. This sweeping drama, set in 19th century New England, invites audiences of all ages to imagine how hope can change the world.

Here's the slightly longer synopsis:

William Miller's faith is in ruins. After miraculously surviving a fierce battle in the War of 1812, William questions why God spared him. His search for wisdom leads to an astonishing prophecy-the world is going to end. The Hopeful unfolds as a story of a man burdened with the knowledge of Christ's return. Miller's message resonates with some-even as it is scorned by others. When a young woman named Ellen Harmon listens to one of his sermons she is transformed. And through her witness the message begins to take flight. The preaching grows beyond prophecy and develops into a more holistic vision for how Christians should live and worship. We see blossoming the seeds of a new global movement of faith- the Seventh Day Adventist Church. The Hopeful is the true story of a community whose lives were transformed as they learn what it means to truly wait for Jesus. This sweeping drama, set in 19th century New England, invites audiences of all ages to imagine how hope can change the world.

The longer answer is better, isn't it?
