Deuteronomy 6:6-7

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. ~ Deuteronomy 6:6-7

This is our sweet little chihuahua, Chloe. We adopted her 8 years ago at a pet show, on a cold snowy day in March. She was a pathetic sight, at barely 2 lbs. The shelter that she was in had rescued her from an Amish puppy mill. She was scrawny...her ribs were visible, and we were told she had a heart murmur. My husband and I spent a (very) short time considering her before deciding that she was the pup for us!

We had her in to our vet within the next few days, and the news was not encouraging. Her heart was enlarged, and it was estimated that she may not live another year. Slightly deflated, we had a few more tests done, with slightly more encouraging news.

Well, that was, as you can see from above, almost 8 years ago, and Chloe has proved to be a spunky, tenacious little thing. We often remark that she is the most anti-chihuahua chihuahua that ever was, because of her gentle disposition. She loves everyone that she meets, and barks so rarely, that it is a treat when she makes a sound. Health wise, she has had some ongoing issues, mainly with skin allergies, and her teeth. This week, she had a dental, and had quite a few teeth removed. She is a trooper though, and has appeared to have little discomfort, and we've been doing our best to spoil her as she recuperates. Love this little peanut!
