Homeschool Diploma - A Crew Review

Hey homeschooling parents, the month of May is quickly approaching, and I have a timely review of the 8th Grade Diploma from Homeschool Diploma to share with you. Do you have kids that will be graduating this Spring? If your answer is yes, then this is the company for you.

Homeschool Diploma has everything that you'll want and need to graduate your Kindergartener, 8th grader, and/or High Schooler. Diplomas? Check. Cap and Gown? Check. Class rings? Check. Invitations? Tassels? Yep, they have it all.

This small company has been providing these supplies to homeschooling families and schools since 2002. Their fast shipping is a great selling point, with products going out within 5 business days, and typically even sooner, at 1- 3 days. 

The ordering process on their website is organized efficiently. All you do is follow the step by step instructions to personalize your diploma. After each section is completed, you click the "continue" button, and it moves you on to the next phase. You cannot move on without completing each part, so there is no need to worry that you'll leave anything out. Let me walk you through the way the process went for us.

 We selected the 8th Grade Diploma which measures 7" x 9".

Step 1.)

We chose our seal design - 'Soli Deo Gloria' (To God Alone be the Glory)

Then the name of our (gulp) graduate.

Step 2.)

Student information- name, gender

 Step 3.)

School information - If you have named your homeschool, you can add it here, as well as the city and state where you live, and the name of your school's instructor and administrator.

Step 4.)

Diploma wording - You can choose to have your diploma say Eighth Grade Diploma, or Junior High Diploma. 

Step 5.)

Add a Bible verse if you like. We chose Proverbs 9:10 ~"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding".

Step 6.)

Add the date of the graduation. You may just add the month and year if you like.

Step 7.)

Choose the type of paper you like. We selected a lovely Ivory Parchment.

Step 8.)

You may choose to add a "High Honors" seal to your diploma - we did.

Step 9.)

Choose your diploma cover- color, student's name if you like. 

We chose the Deluxe Cover, which includes a seal stamped on the middle, as well as our daughter's name on the lower right side.

*Note that some of these options are upgrades, and will cost a little more.

The process was painless, except for the painful reminder that my baby is growing up too fast! Our diploma arrived under a week's time from our ordering date. I was impressed. We are very pleased with the finished product, it's beautiful. The diploma arrived in well cushioned packaging. It included the list of our specifications, and was protected in a plastic bag. We are thrilled with the quality. I'm already planning out the graduation for our youngest daughter next year (more tears). We'll be having a small family gathering to celebrate our daughter's accomplishment this May. We won't have the cap and gown for this 8th grade graduation, but we will be putting together a small ceremony to mark the occasion. It's funny, because she is my shy girl, and doesn't necessarily like a lot of attention, yet I can see the expressions on her face as we discuss these plans, and it's apparent that this celebration makes her feel loved, and her accomplishment noted.
